Family workout Fitness Taster & Indoor Family Group Cycle Tasters

Cycling Studio 11:00 – 11:20, 11:30 – 11:50

Enjoy fitness as a family in a fun and energetic group environment led by one of our highly trained instructors adapting our own popular classes such as Body Conditioning and Indoor Group Cycle to meet all ages from 6 and above. A family fitness class is a great way for you and your child to release all that pent up energy, whilst feeling fitter and healthier, they will be having so much fun that it won’t feel like exercise but more like playtime!

Family Play Zone

Conference Hall 1 11:30 – 14:30

Active play area including bouncy castle with slide, pop up softplay area and sports area including mini football, mini basketball, badminton and short tennis. Please note, bouncy bastle and pop up softplay are for 8 years and under and parents/guardians/carers must stay and supervise their children.

Sports Tasters

Main Hall 13:00 – 15:00

Come and try a new sport in our main hall, choose from badminton, table tennis or the new and upcoming sport of pickleball!

Thornbury Indoor Bowls Club

Bowls Hall 14:00 – 16:00

Try your hand at bowls with our taster sessions. Our coaches will be available to give you tips, advice and develop your skills!

Osteoarthritis Workshop

Filnore Suite 10:00 – 10:30

If you suffer from arthritis, try this workshop which caters for all ages and will help build muscular strength, improve balance and flexibility. Over time this class could help reduce pain caused by your arthritis and improve your overall mobility.

Seated Pilates Workshop

Filnore Suite 11:00 – 11:30

Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on balance, posture and strength and our seated Pilates workshop is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, helping to improve joint mobility as well as relieve stress and tension.

Strength & Balance Workshop

Filnore Suite 12:00 – 12:30

Fall prevention exercise programme for older adults. Helps to improve balance, muscle strength, flexibility, and reaction time. Ideal for those who are frail, had one or more falls and/or cannot participate in other exercises.

The Thornbury Clinic

Filnore Suite 13:30 – 15:30

Our specialist staff will be on hand to give you advice on injuries and rehabilitation, health and wellbeing, analyse your running gait or even give you a sports massage!


Thornbury Squash Club

Squash Courts 13:00 – 16:00

Open to all ages there will be squash taster sessions, coaching and open play. All equipment will be provided, and coaches will be available to give information about Thornbury Squash Club.


Gym Taster Session

Active Gym 10:00 – 14:00

Our gym tasters for ages 9 plus will include full use of all our cardio machines and for 14 plus this will also include our resistance machines. All participants will be given guidance and a health & safety briefing from one of our expert trainers, and our staff will also be available to assist and give advice throughout your family’s workout and also do blood pressure checks and checks on height, weight and measure your body mass index (BMI).


Swimstars & Rookie Lifeguard

Main Pool 10:00 – 12:00

Throughout the morning our swimming lessons will be taking place and there will be an opportunity to ask our swimming teachers about lessons and book a swim assessment/taster sessions for your child! If you are interested in becoming a lifeguard our rookie lifeguards will be demonstrating their skills and there will be instructors available for further information. Severnside Tritons Swimming Club

Main Pool 11:00 – 12:00

Our club swimmers will be showcasing their skills and participating in a club fun session! Coaches will be on hand to give information and advice about the club swimming programme.


Family Swim

Main Pool 14:30 – 15:20

A great way to finish the day with a family swim in our main pool, with floats, toys and balls. All under 8’s must be accompanied in the water by an adult and please see our website for all other swimming guidelines and information.
