Thirty-five years ago I started my career by going to Yate Leisure Centre on 6 weeks work experience. When my College Course finished there was a vacancy at Yate for a Leisure Assistant for which I was successfully recruited. I then started to climb the ladder with various promotions across the South Gloucestershire Leisure Centres: Duty Manager at Yate, followed by Assistant Manager at Kingswood, followed by Centre Manager at Bradley Stoke, culminating with my current role of Operations Director managing 7 sites. Obviously, I have enjoyed working for Circadian Trust over the years. I have had plenty of development opportunities and Circadian are a very forward thinking company which is why I have stayed with them for over 30 years.

I joined Circadian Trust as a Business Support Apprentice in December 2013 where I worked in a variety of departments gaining different skills and knowledge. I then progressed into the role of HR Assistant in July 2014 and worked my way up to the position of HR Officer in September 2015; having completed my CIPD Level 3. After a year and a half of attending evening college classes, I then completed my CIPD Level 5 in June 2017 and I am now continuing to further my own personal development and work experiences with Circadian Trust who have supported me with my career development.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Receive an email inviting you to interview.
  • Choose your interview time slot.
  • Attend your interview.
  • If relevant to your role, attend a training course. We may ask you to sign a training agreement if we are funding or partially funding your course.
  • Attend and complete the course to gain your qualification (100% attendance is required).
  • Receive, sign and return your offer of employment letter.
  • Onboarding is the process where we complete all pre-employment checks including, but not limited to DBS, pre-placement medical questionnaire, reference and proof of right to work. We will guide you through this!
  • Once HR have received all necessary satisfactory checks you will receive your start date for your new role with your agreed Active Lifestyle Centre!
  • Your Active Lifestyle Centre will be in contact to arrange your induction!
