About Us

MISSION: Inspiring Active Lifestyles

VISION: “A Healthy, Active Community”

We are Circadian Trust; an innovative, social enterprise operating as an independent charity, which successfully manages leisure facilities across South Gloucestershire.
We work in close partnership with South Gloucestershire Council balancing commercial reality with social conscience, to deliver both commercial and social return on investment, within the local community.
As a business we have a charitable arm and a commercial arm. As a registered charity all profits are reinvested back into the business. Since becoming a Trust in 2005, we have reinvested over £13million, modernising facilities and services.
We run and operate 5 Active Lifestyle Centres, to bring our mission ‘Inspiring Active Lifestyles’ to life.

Recent investments and achievements include

£3.6million redevelopment at Bradley Stoke, which included a new Adventure Play, indoor Adventure Climbing experience, Toning Suite, Fitness Studios, Changing Rooms, and a Café and Gym extension with all new equipment.

£1.5 million redevelopment at Longwell Green, which included a new fitness studio, gym extension with all new equipment, a new entrance and lobby, and new changing rooms including disability changing.

£1.4 million essential redevelopment project at Yate, which saw both pools closed in order to replace the pool’s pipework and install a new environmentally friendly plant room. Work was carried out to secure the sustainability of the swimming pools for future generations.

£100,000 rebrand from Active Leisure Centres to Active Lifestyle Centres.

£250,000 programme of improvements at Thornbury which included the relocation and installation of a large modern gym, in response to growing demand. A new dance studio, and a new dedicated Studio Cycling room, as well as a full café refurbishment.

New dedicated Group Cycling Studios at Kingswood and Yate

Introduction of Wellbeats Virtual Fitness Classes and Les Mills Classes to our programmes.

Installation of a new dedicated Conferences and Events Café at Thornbury and two large SOHO Coffee Co. cafes at both Bradley Stoke and Yate.

Improvements to customer experience by introducing our own dedicated Contact and Call Centre, Mystery Sales Shops and a new customer feedback system.

OUR PARTNERSHIP

In 2007, Circadian Trust formed the Active Partnership with South Gloucestershire Council library services; our mission, to create ‘An Active mind in an Active body’.

The vision was to create a single free membership card for both leisure and library services. Uptake of the card has proven to be very successful, currently attracting almost 100,000 card holders. The Active partnership pulls together resources, skills and funding to create a ‘single’ entry point for customers to sport, leisure, physical activity and library services. By sharing data, the Active Partnership can tailor communication, identify and understand customer trends and open up ‘new markets.’

Working in partnership means we can also help support each other’s community activities, a few key examples include school assemblies, summer reading challenge, festival of sport, and the annual Discovery festival.

We actively invite strategic partners who share in our values and would benefit from working in a formal alliance.

OUR PLANS

Our success is contingent on our ability to deliver the charitable aims of the company and our Mission, Vision and Values which support these.
