Code of Conduct

We have created this code of conduct to help us maintain a safe environment for all customers and members of staff. It forms part of the terms and conditions of your membership at all Active Lifestyle Centres. To help maintain a positive atmosphere in our centres, we ask all customers to respect the following:

Preventing Harassment

Everyone deserves a safe, respectful and supportive environment to focus on their health and wellbeing. That’s why we do not tolerate any form of harassment in our centres.

We expect everyone to be able to enjoy their chosen activity without fear of intimidation or discriminatory behaviour based on race, gender reassignment, disability, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, sex, sexual orientation, religion, age or any other characteristic.

Access and use of our facilities

You will need a valid membership card, or QR code, to access our gyms at all times.

Please follow all operational signage – it’s there to help you and keep you safe.

Please be courteous to others and replace all equipment once you’ve finished your exercise or activity.

Please use headphones for any calls, listening to music, or watching videos.

During busy periods in the gym, please be mindful of others and limit your time on your chosen equipment.

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable gym experience during busy times, please limit the number of members at the weights machines to two and allow others to work in between sets.

Wipe down equipment after you’ve used it with the sanitising wipes or sprays, we provide.

Please store your personal belongings in the lockers provided. Do not leave baggage in our halls, on the poolside or in the gym. Again, this is for your enjoyment and safety.

Always wear clean sports clothing and deodorant while exercising. We want our centres to be pleasant environments where members and visitors wear appropriate clothing for their activity. (Please note, denim, soiled clothing, or swimwear, is not acceptable in the gym).

Always be mindful of others in shared spaces.

Do not stare or invade someone’s personal space.

The taking of photos is not allowed in our facilities.

Active Lifestyle Centres operate a zero-tolerance policy for abusive behaviour and violence towards customers and staff.

Your personal and medical safety

  • All members and customers must read and understand the Health Commitment Statement, which we display throughout every facility.
  • Smoking, E-cigarettes or being under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not permitted anywhere in our facilities.
  • Always wear appropriate footwear in the gym – flip flops, sliders and crocs are not acceptable.
  • Food is not allowed in the gym, but water bottles and sports drinks are.
  • Please follow guidance from staff for safety and best practises.

Thank you for keeping our centres safe and enjoyable

We will revoke membership and/or reserve the right to ask customers to leave the centre for any violation of this code of conduct.

If you witness or experience any behaviour or circumstances that fall short of our exacting standards, please either report it in person to a member of staff, or over the phone with a member of our customer services team by calling 03003330300 or email safeguarding@circadiantrust.org

We will review and treat every case seriously with sensitivity and confidentially, and if you prefer, we can connect you with a staff member of the same gender.
