These awards are divided into progressive stages. They make up the core, national syllabus of learning to swim for primary school aged children and are designed to reward your child for their development of the essential aquatic skills they need to be confident, competent and safe in the water.

The Learn to Swim Stages 8-10 continue on from the fundamental lessons learnt in stages 1-7 of the Learn to Swim programme.

Each of the Diving Stages has a list of clear outcomes that need to be completed in order to gain each Award.

These awards recognise specific single achievements and can be awarded at any time by your child’s Swimming Teacher. They are often used to help reward pre-school children who may struggle with a specific skill.
